Qing Kinmen Township General Command Post Introduction
The location of the Kinmen District Military Command was originally known as "Congqingxuan," which is said to be the place where the Ming Dynasty scholar Xu Xie studied in 1601 during the Wanli years. During the Kangxi period, General Chen Long considered the old Kinmen City had experienced multiple wars during the late Ming Dynasty, and as the local population prospered, he decided to relocate the Military Command here. After several renovations, it has reached its current scale. Until 1915, when Kinmen County was established, the Military Command remained the highest administrative center, undergoing various transformations such as Kinmen County Office, Kinmen County Government, Administrative Office, and Kinmen Defense Command... It is now a classic tourist attraction in Kinmen and one of the designated historic sites of the county. Stepping into this quadrangle courtyard with four entrances and two corridors, time seems to flow back to the past. The Qing Dynasty government hall is well-preserved, with the entrance, main hall, and inner office vividly recreated using wax figures, and each room features detailed textual descriptions. Don’t miss the ancient and towering kapok tree in the backyard, which is over hundreds of years old. During late spring to early summer, its vibrant flowers attract many photographers, adding a beautiful scenery to the Military Command with its bright orange blossoms. **Exhibition Contents** - **East Science Room**: Introduction and display of Kinmen's historical development. - **East Science Room II**: Introduction and display of the architectural history of the Military Command. - **East General's Anteroom I**: Introduction and display of the Military Command. - **East General's Anteroom II**: Introduction and display of the military examination content and the deeds of military officers. - **East Ear Room I**: Introduction and display of Qing Dynasty weapons. - **East Ear Room II**: Introduction and display of Qing Dynasty official attire. - **Left Inner Room**: Introduction and display of Qing Dynasty hair and makeup. - **Main Inner Room**: Display of the daily life scenarios of the Military Command. - **Right Inner Room**: Display of living room scenarios. - **Right Inner Office**: Special exhibition space. - **Main Inner Office**: Display of the Military Command's discussions. - **Left Inner Office**: Display of study scenarios. - **East Room**: Introduction and display of "Five Punishments" and "Ten Evils." - **Dungeon**: Display of scenarios for imprisoning offenders. - **Main Hall**: Display of judicial proceedings scenarios. - **West Room**: Introduction of the "Great Qing Legal Code" and "Eight Deliberations." - **West Ear Room II**: Display of ancient artifacts related to imperial decrees and memorials. - **West Ear Room I**: Exhibition area "Traveling with the Military Command." - **West General's Anteroom II**: Explanation and screening space. - **West General's Anteroom I**: Interactive game experience space. - **West Science Room III**: Introduction to the naval commander and warships exhibition. **Tour Times for Houshan Township** - Walking distance of approximately 1.8 kilometers - Daily from 19:30 to 21:30 - Registration on-site at the Military Command - Inquiry phone: 082-371717 Regular guided service times: 09:10, 10:10, 11:10, 13:30, 14:30, 15:30, 16:30, 17:30, 19:00, 20:00, 21:00.
