Anping Guiji Food Culture Museum Introduction
Anping Guiji Food Culture Hall, located on Yanping Street in the First Old Street, is built from the ancestral home of the Yang family. The side exterior still showcases the traditional architectural shape of a horse's back, often frequented by pigeons. Another feature of the ancestral home is a mini air-raid shelter, hand-excavated by the ancestors of the Yang family during the time they concealed from U.S. airstrikes; the design inside is quite thoughtful and worth a visit. Currently, the entire hall is known for its signature dishes such as Ding Bian Cuo (a type of rice noodle), shrimp and pork meatballs, and taro cake, combining various famous Tainan snacks to provide a full set of authentic Tainan street food, elegantly named the Tainan Snack Flavor Meal, allowing customers to enjoy a rich yet economical feast in Anping.
