Xingang (Rainbow) Waterfall Introduction
Located on the west side of Chenggong Township in Taitung County, Taiwan, Niugang Waterfall, also known as Rainbow Waterfall or Malau Waterfall, was referred to as "Weishen Waterfall" during the Japanese colonial period. Geographically, it is situated at the foothills of Xinguang Mountain on the eastern side of the Taiwan Coastal Mountain Range, originating from Xinguang Mountain. The waterfall has a drop of about 200 meters, making it one of the few long waterfalls in Taiwan and the highest in the eastern coastal area, thus it ranks among the top ten notable waterfalls in Taiwan. Currently, there is a Malau Trail developed by the township office that provides access to the waterfall, with a small parking lot for vehicles at the trailhead. The hiking trail takes approximately 40 minutes to one hour to complete.
