Xingang (Rainbow) Waterfall Introduction

Niugang Waterfall, also known as Rainbow Waterfall and Malao Luosh Mountain Waterfall, is located on the west side of Chenggong Township, Taitung County, Taiwan. During the Japanese colonial period, it was referred to as "Weishen Falls." Geographically, it belongs to the eastern foothills of the Xinguang Mountain, part of the Coastal Mountain Range in Taiwan. It originates from Xinguang Mountain and has a drop of about 200 meters, making it a rare long waterfall in Taiwan and the highest waterfall on the eastern coast, thus ranking it among the top ten famous waterfalls in Taiwan. Currently, there is a Malao Lu Trail developed by the town hall that provides access to the waterfall, with a small parking lot at the trailhead. The entire trail takes about 40 minutes to an hour to complete.

Xingang (Rainbow) Waterfall Travel Information

Address：Sanmin Industrial Road, Chenggong Township, Taitung County 961, Taiwan

Transportation Methods：Take the bus: Ride the Hsing Tung Bus routes 8101, 8102, 8103, 8107, 8119, 8120, or 8125 and get off at the Sanmin Elementary School stop. Proceed along County Road 18 (Sanmin Road) to the left on Fulong Road. At the intersection, turn right onto County Road 16 (Sanmin Industry Road). At the fork with the sign for the Malau Lo Trail, turn right and head uphill to the entrance of the Malau Lo Trail. The distance from the trail to the waterfall is approximately 6 kilometers, not including the trail itself. It is recommended to rent a vehicle for transportation.

Remarks：1. To reach the Xianggang Waterfall, you need to pass through the Malalu Trail, so please prepare your equipment. 2. If you want to have a distant view of the Xianggang Waterfall, you can clearly see it next to the white banyan tree at the entrance of the Malalu Trail.
