Star-gazing Park Introduction
The Star-Gazing Park is located on the eastern side of Shanshui Beach, near the Shanshui Fishing Port and Guanyin Mountain, which is known for snorkeling. At the foot of the mountain, you can find the coastal area. The park was renovated in 2008, and as you climb along the trails, you can enjoy a view of the Shanshui Harbor. Behind the mountain, there's a grassland and a seaside path. Within the Star-Gazing Park, there are three pavilions where you can take a break along the walking paths before continuing your journey. In the hollow area behind the mountain, there is a stone monument that outlines the constellations corresponding to the four seasons. This astronomical design helps block the lights from fishing boats during the summer nights at the harbor and Shanshui waters, minimizing light pollution from the fishing lights, which facilitates stargazing in the park’s observation square, where one can admire the starry night sky. Situated at the highest point on the eastern side of Shanshui, the park offers a panoramic view of Shanshui Beach and Shanshui Fishing Port, with the blue sea stretching before you. On the other side, you can see the expansive coastal grassland and sandy paths between the harbor and Shanshui. The wide grassland boasts unique beauty in both summer's lush green and winter's dry yellow. Here, you can watch the sunrise in the morning, enjoy the sunset in the evening, and stargaze at night. 【Recommended duration: 1.5 hours】
