Star Gazing Park Introduction
The Stargazing Park is located at the eastern side of Shanshui Beach near the Shanshui Fishing Port on Guanyin Mountain, which is famous for its snorkeling areas right at the beachfront. Completed in 2008, the park has a trail that allows visitors to hike up and enjoy a view of the Shanshui Harbor. Behind the mountain, there are grasslands and coastal paths; within the park, there are three pavilions where visitors can take a break along the walkways. In the concave area behind the mountain, there's a star chart stone monument depicting the four seasons. This stargazing area is designed to shield boats with lights used for night fishing in the summer, minimizing light pollution from fishing lamps on the sea, enhancing the stargazing experience where visitors can observe a sky full of stars from the stargazing plaza. Shanshui Stargazing Park is situated at the highest point on the eastern side of Shanshui, offering a panoramic view of Shanshui Beach and the Shanshui Fishing Port, with the vast blue sea in sight. On the other side, one can see the expansive coastal grasslands and sandy paths between the harbor and Shanshui. The wide grasslands present unique beauty in summer’s vibrant green and winter’s withered yellow.
