Jincheng Lake Introduction

Hsinchu is home to Jincheng Lake, located near the estuary of the Kejia River, previously known as the Devil's Pool. Once silted up, it has been restored and is now an important rest area for wild birds in northern Taiwan. There are at least 250 species of birds, making it a major highlight of the area. The intertidal zone is rich in marine life, filled with fish, crabs, mollusks, and more. Jincheng Lake is a significant stop for many migratory birds on their journey, and the lake and dyke are the best spots for birdwatching, with the optimal birdwatching season from September to May each year. Jincheng Lake is the best birdwatching site in the Gangnan area, and birdwatching enthusiasts should not miss this opportunity.
