Shihchung Wulu Caishen Temple Introduction
The Wulu Caishen Temple is a purely Taoist temple where worshippers primarily seek wealth. Its location in front of Jinbaoshan, which resembles an ingot, has made this temple particularly popular. Additionally, the various offerings such as the incense burner, the gold furnace used for burning joss paper, and the wealth pot also symbolize the ingot shape, making it a temple of prosperity and fortune in northern Taiwan. The architectural features of the Wulu Caishen Temple in Shiding are splendid, with ingots visible everywhere—from the pillars to the gold furnace and decorations. The temple worships five deities: the Wealth God Zhao Gongming, the Wealth Messenger, the Treasure Gathering Heavenly Lord, the Precious Gathering Heavenly Lord, and the Prosperous Fortune Immortal, allowing visitors to seek both legitimate and windfall wealth. Visiting here during the Lunar New Year, one can feel the abundance of golden auspiciousness that not only brings luck but also allows one to share in the joy of the wealth god. If one wishes to seek "wealth gold," they only need to throw divination blocks to get a holy cup and register their personal information at the altar to receive the wealth gold. Additionally, visitors can exchange coins with the Tiger God for lucky money. After the visit, one can stroll through Shenkeng Old Street to savor fried stinky tofu, braised tofu, tofu ice cream, and other tofu dishes.
