Chahsiang Osmanthus Farm

Taipei Foods

Osmanthus Garden is located in Longsheng Village, Shiding District, also known as Osmanthus Village, along County Road 32. It is one of Taiwan's ancient tea-growing areas, situated at an elevation of over 300 meters. The soil contains gravel, and the rainfall is moderate throughout the year. Back in the 1950s and 1960s, during the peak of tea cultivation, local tea farmers used osmanthus as a flavoring for roasted tea, enhancing its added value—requiring 25 kilograms of osmanthus for every 100 kilograms of tea. Therefore, a large number of osmanthus trees are planted beside the tea gardens. After August each year, villagers of all ages wander through the osmanthus groves to collect fresh flowers, creating a unique local landscape and serving as an important memory for the community.
