Located right in front of the "Heart of Shiding" plaza, Fubao Restaurant may not look impressive from the outside, but it has been operating for over fifty years and is quite popular among locals. It is always packed on weekends and holidays, and is renowned for its excellent culinary skills hidden within simple dishes. Must-try dishes include the signature "Fubao Tofu Three Ways" — fried tofu, tofu soup, and braised tofu, which are essential for foodies visiting. Particularly notable is the "Braised Tofu," which is prepared differently from the common practice of deep-frying before braising; instead, it is cooked slowly with Kecap Manis (sweet soy sauce), resulting in a tender exterior that is both sweet and flavorful, with the tofu center rich in taste, showcasing the chef's exceptional cooking prowess. Although the reputation of "Shiding Tofu" isn't as loud as that of "Shenkeng Tofu," it is said that most of Shenkeng's tofu actually comes from Shiding, giving both a unique roasted aroma. However, the truth of this claim is subjective; friends interested in exploring this matter are encouraged to visit and taste for themselves.
