Yun Sen Waterfall Introduction
Yunshen Waterfall, located in the Xiangong area of Sanxia District, New Taipei City, is situated upstream of the Zhongkeng Creek. It is a combination of two waterfalls, Yunxin and Sen Mountain, and is sometimes collectively referred to as the "Three Waterfalls of Yunshen," which includes the Sisters Waterfall. The journey along the trail is mostly gentle, surrounded by lush forests, and features clear streams, wooden bridges, and aluminum ladders, providing a safe yet adventurous experience. Shortly after crossing the creek, visitors can see the Yunxin Waterfall, which is approximately ten meters high and has a curtain-like appearance. Nearby, there are massive green maples that, from late December to early January, offer the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful scenery of cascading maple leaves offsetting the stunning waterfall. A steeper trail on the left leads to the cliff top of Yunxin Waterfall and the slender Sen Mountain Waterfall, but the view and space are limited, making it less accessible. The beauty of Yunshen Waterfall has attracted many photographers and television advertisements, leading to an increase in visitors for waterfall viewing, maple appreciation, mountain climbing, stream tracing, and water play. Due to the narrow mountain roads and limited parking, it is advisable to avoid weekends or set out early. Visitors can also explore nearby intermediate mountains (such as Zhulushan, Kabu Mountain, Lepai Mountain, Zuheshan, and Manyuyuan Mountain) or the Charcoal Ancient Trail, and they can visit the Manyuyuan Forest Recreation Area or Sanxia Old Street to enjoy a forest spa journey in a secluded area.
