Milingan Theater Introduction
"Miling'an" means "telling stories" in the Paiwan language. It embodies the mythological spirit of the connection and mutual care between indigenous ancestors, land, and people, hinting at the importance of humility, cherishing blessings, and protecting the land for humanity today. Miling'an is not a single performance; each time it is presented, it acts as a connection between the past and the present, either spiritually or materially. The voices and languages of the Paiwan people continuously internalize the wisdom of their ancestors and life stories while linking them to contemporary thoughts and issues, allowing the stories of this land to be passed down and sung through generations. Led by Paiwan vocalist Ruis and producer Hu Jian, Ruis is the winner of the Best Vocal Performance in Traditional and Arts category at the 15th Golden Melody Awards. The troupe has long operated the "Miling'an Musical Theater" in the Xindian area, integrating performing arts with indigenous culture. The "Miling'an Lakeside Musical" is regularly performed every Friday and Saturday at the Fuliandou Wulai Resort Hotel (No. 3, Weidike, Wulai District, New Taipei City).
