Play and Enjoy Guide ◼️Ecological Experience Center - Circular Theater, Interactive Experience Area, and Ecological Education Center ◼️Enjoy the beautiful sunset and wind turbines at Gaomei Wetlands, stargazing at night. To avoid overcrowding of people and vehicles that could damage the local landscape and ecology, the Taichung City Government's Construction Bureau took over two years to establish the "Gaomei Wetland Visitor Service Center." Covering approximately 8.4 hectares, the Visitor Service Center includes two parking lots (Parking Lot 68 and 69) that can accommodate 27 large buses, 568 small cars, and 205 motorcycles. The main building of the Visitor Service Center is two stories tall, featuring a sloped design that resembles a spiral, as if waves are rising from the ground. The second floor has a viewing platform for observing the Gaomei sunset and wind turbines, as well as enjoying stargazing at night; the outdoor plaza features installations of fiddler crabs and shell shapes, along with an outdoor ecological pool for visitors to take photos and closely observe wetland ecology. In addition to providing tourist information and guided tours, the "Ecological Experience Center" is planned for visitors to gain a more complete and profound understanding of wetlands and ecology. In addition, the Visitor Service Center includes a dining area and a cultural and creative product section, and regularly holds concerts, ecological lectures, and various activities to provide tourists with a more comfortable and convenient experience during their travels and leisure time. Spot Features The Ecological Experience Center inside the Visitor Center is divided into a Circular Theater, Interactive Experience Area, and Ecological Education Center. Upon entering the Circular Theater, visitors can experience the shock of 360-degree projections. The theater showcases the beauty of Gaomei Wetlands throughout the four seasons and different times of the day, with each scene fully exhibiting the unique magical landscapes of Gaomei Wetlands. At the Interactive Experience Area, the "Wetland Knowledge Wall" at the entrance gives an overview of global wetlands and migratory routes of waterfowl; it then leads visitors to understand the history of Gaomei Wetlands and the plants and animals that inhabit the area; uniquely, the technology allows visitors to experience a Gaomei sunset even on cloudy days with "Gaomei Tides"; attractions like "Wetland Plants," "Dancing Crabs," and "Soaring High" are popular with children, featuring three interactive games designed to enhance children's impressions of wetland ecology; visitors can also leave exclusive photos with friends and family at the "Gaomei Memory Panel"! The Ecological Education Center at the exit also regularly plans various ecological lectures and activities. The Ecological Experience Center aims to convey correct knowledge of wetlands through diverse methods, hoping to plant the seed of "Sustainable use of wetlands needs your protection" in the hearts of visitors. To respond to the unique natural environment, the Slowly Sunset Camping Site, located 20 meters from the coast, offers an overnight stay experience combined with rich resources around the Gaomei Wetland Visitor Service Center, providing ecological experience courses to gain an in-depth understanding of blue carbon ecosystems; utilizing locally sourced fresh ingredients, the "Tide Island Restaurant" located on the second floor of the Visitor Service Center, with unbeatable sea views, and the "Slightly Tipsy Sunset" vegetarian restaurant and wine bar on the first floor, offer creative dishes with local characteristics, creating a luxurious camping site most suitable for family travels and visitors.
