Tamsui Old Street Huwei Bakery Introduction
With a century-old baking technique as its foundation, the shop rolls out multi-layered, crispy pastry skin to create the neat, yellowish Japanese-style honeycomb pastry, a treasure of Huwei Township and the only shop in Taiwan that uses honeycomb in the filling. It recreates the splendor of the Huwei Confectionery from the 1960s, allowing grandparents' memories to be awakened once again. The shop not only reinterpret traditional flavors but also incorporates modern health concepts, producing foods that are either egg-based vegetarian or pure vegan, with no added spices, preservatives, coloring, or other chemical additives.
