Bao An Tang Introduction
A century-old pharmacy passed down through three generations continuously innovates to develop tea drinks that cater to modern preferences for health and beauty. By making a reservation in advance, visitors can tour the pharmacy filled with antiques. The shop's popular product, "Vitality Tea," has a sweet taste and can boost immunity. It is said that disciples of Master Cheng Yen purchase this to offer to the Master. On the day of the visit, someone was buying traditional Chinese medicine to brew wine, including a blend of "Ten Complete" herbs with 15 types of traditional medicine, such as Thousand-Year Dragon Bone. The owner mentioned that this is better than XO. "Bao An Tang" has now reached the third generation, with owner Chen Xin-hsiung preparing to pass it on to the fourth generation, his daughter-in-law Chen Shi-hui-mei. Due to its long history, all the items in the shop have their own stories; the cups and plates were used by former Provincial Governor Zhou Zhi-rou 50 years ago. The owner is particularly proud of the Huanghuali scale and the bamboo scale, which he claims are more valuable than gold.
