Zhen Guo Temple Introduction
Located on the western foothills of Jiji Mountain, this is a Buddhist temple dedicated to the practice of Pure Land Buddhism. It features the World Peace Pagoda, which houses a 36-foot tall statue of Shakyamuni Buddha, as well as relics of Shakyamuni Buddha that can be venerated. On the second floor of the pagoda, there is the only set of 208 prayer wheels in Taiwan. Surrounding the pagoda are statues of the four great Bodhisattvas: Avalokiteshvara, Ksitigarbha, Samantabhadra, and Manjushri, along with eighteen Arhats. The temple also showcases a unique dual-sided statue of Amitabha Buddha preaching and a 42-foot tall statue of Avalokiteshvara with four arms. The environment is tranquil and serene, and the great gate offers a complete view of the beautiful scenery of Jiji Township.
