Zhen Guo Temple Introduction
At the western foot of Jiji Mountain, there is a Buddhist temple dedicated to Pure Land chanting. It is home to the World Peace Pagoda, which houses a 36-foot tall statue of Shakyamuni Buddha, as well as relics of Shakyamuni Buddha that can be venerated. The second floor of the pagoda features the only 208 prayer wheels in Taiwan. Surrounding the pagoda are statues of the four great Bodhisattvas: Guanyin, Kṣitigarbha, Samantabhadra, and Manjushri, as well as eighteen arhats. The temple also enshrines a unique dual-sided Amitābha Buddha teaching statue and a 42-foot tall statue of the Four-Armed Guanyin. The environment is tranquil and serene, and from the large mountain gate, one can enjoy a panoramic view of the beautiful scenery of Jiji Township.
