Zhen Guo Temple Introduction
Located on the western foothills of Jiji Mountain, this is a Buddhist temple dedicated to Pure Land chanting. It features the World Peace Pagoda that houses a 36-foot tall statue of Shakyamuni Buddha and the relics of Shakyamuni Buddha for worship and viewing. The second floor of the relic pagoda has the only 208 prayer wheels in Taiwan, surrounded by statues of the four great Bodhisattvas: Avalokiteshvara, Ksitigarbha, Samantabhadra, and Manjushri, as well as eighteen Arhats. The temple also uniquely enshrines a double-sided Amitabha Buddha preaching statue and a 42-foot tall four-armed Avalokiteshvara. The tranquil environment is exceptional, and the great mountain gate offers a panoramic view of the beautiful scenery of Jiji Township.
