Baisha Harbor, the Important Maritime Gateway of Beigan Baisha Harbor is located at the southern tip of Beigan Island in Matsu, serving as a significant transportation hub between Matsu and the Xiaosan Crossing. Before the establishment of the pier, the coastline was covered in pristine white sand, which is how it got its name "Baisha." After the completion of the Baisha Pier in 1998, the clean white sandy beach transformed into a new maritime transportation gateway for Beigan. A port administration building was added, and a western coastal road was constructed to connect Banli, further enhancing both sea and land transportation. With its blue sea views and continuous coastline, it has become an important port for merchants and fishermen alike. Behind the port administration building, the Baisha settlement preserves some old houses, layered on the hills of Nigu Mountain in a terraced style. The quaint stone houses display a strong local fishing village character, and wandering through the ancient houses and alleyways allows one to appreciate the beauty of the winding paths that hint at the passage of time. Pingshui Zunwang Temple The majestic palace-style Pingshui Zunwang Temple, located next to Baisha Harbor, is one of the few large northern palace-style temples in Matsu. Although the exterior of the temple is small, it carries a grand atmosphere and can be considered a landmark of Baisha Harbor, making it worth a visit! It is said that the original temple was established during the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty and has gone through several dynastic changes, evolving from a simple structure to a magnificent temple building.

Baisha Harbor, an important maritime gateway to the outside world for Beigan, is located at the southern end of Beigan Island in Matsu. It serves as a vital transportation hub between the islands and the Small Three Links (小三通). Before the harbor was established in 1998, the coastline was lined with crystal-clear white sand, which is how it got its name. Once the Baisha Pier was completed, the pristine white sand beach transformed into a brand new maritime traffic portal for Beigan, with the construction of the harbor office and the opening of the West Coast Road connecting to Banli, further facilitating land and sea transportation. Complemented by azure sea views and an extending coastline, it has become an important harbor for both fishing and trade. Behind the harbor office, the Baisha settlement retains some old houses, stacked in a stepped manner on the hills of Nunnery Mountain, showcasing the strong local character of a fishing village.
