Baisha Harbor, an Important Maritime Entrance to Beigan Baisha Harbor is located at the southern tip of Beigan Island in Matsu and serves as an important transportation hub between Matsu and the Little Three Links. Before the port was established, the coastline was covered with fine, crystal-clear white sand, hence the name Baisha (meaning "white sand"). After the completion of Baisha Wharf in 1998, the clean white sandy beach transformed into a new maritime gateway for Beigan. The port facilities were upgraded, including the construction of a port office building and the development of the western coastal road connecting to Banli, enhancing both sea and land transportation. With its blue sea views and continuous coastline, it has become a significant port for fishing and commerce. Behind the port office, the Baisha settlement retains some old houses built in a tiered fashion on the hillside of Nigu Mountain, showcasing the strong local character of a fishing village. Pingshui Zunwang Temple The Pingshui Zunwang Temple, an imposing palace-style temple located beside Baisha Wharf, is one of the few large northern palace-style temples in Matsu. It is said that the original temple was built during the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty and has undergone several dynastic changes, evolving from a simple structure to a magnificent temple building.
