Baisha Port Introduction
Baisha Harbor, an important maritime gateway for Beigan, is located at the southern tip of Beigan Island in Matsu. It serves as a vital transportation hub between the islands and the Mini Three Links. Before the construction of the dock, the coastline was covered with pristine white sand, hence the name "Baisha." Completed in 1998, Baisha Harbor transformed the clean white sand beach into a new maritime gateway for Beigan, with the addition of a port administration building and the establishment of a coastal road connecting Banli, facilitating more convenient sea and land transportation. Coupled with the blue ocean views and the continuous coastline, it has become an important port for both fishermen and traders. Behind the port administration building, the Baisha settlement retains some old houses, stacked in a terraced manner on the hillside of Nunnery Mountain. The quaint stone houses display a strong local fishing village character, inviting visitors to wander through the alleys, capturing the beauty of the surroundings while savoring the essence of time that seeps through the winding paths. This is where the journey in Beigan begins! Pingshui Zunwang Temple The majestic palace-style temple, Pingshui Zunwang Temple, located near Baisha Harbor, is a rare large northern palace-style temple in Matsu. Although the entire temple looks small, it has a grand presence and can be considered a landmark of Baisha Harbor, well worth a visit!
