Beigan Visitor Center Introduction
Just a three-minute drive from Baisha Harbor, you will find the Beigan Visitor Center located on Sakiri Village Street. Upon entering the visitor center, you will be greeted with a wide array of tourism brochures and information, offering various travel consultations as well as video presentations and guided tours. It is the perfect first stop for quickly replenishing your knowledge about Beigan's attractions. In addition to the service counter, the first floor houses a souvenir shop and Beigan's only duty-free store. If you feel tired, the second floor features a light meal café, ideal for visitors to enjoy a meal, rest, and take in the sea view while preparing for the next leg of their Matsu journey. Video presentations are held from 09:00 to 16:30 every half hour, with each session lasting about 11 minutes. Reviving Old Buildings - The Century-Old Sakiri Mansion If you want to experience the life of early Matsu residents, you must visit the Sakiri Mansion, located right across from the Beigan Visitor Center. Built using traditional techniques like the herringbone and T-shaped masonry, the mansion features neatly arranged stone walls, while its interior is constructed from raw wood, showcasing what used to be a luxurious residence! Now renovated, it retains its original facade, with new structural beams and columns. The right side of the mansion is open for visitor tours, while the left side serves as a traditional guesthouse. Walking through the historic wooden corridor, you may even hear the familiar creaking sound of the wooden floors—this is a must-visit experience of Eastern Fujian architectural charm. Sakiri Mansion opening hours: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM.
