Beigan Visitor Center Introduction
Driving from Baisha Port for just three minutes, you can find the Beigan Visitor Center located on Dajie Street in Banli Village. Upon entering the visitor center, you will find a wide array of travel brochures and information, offering various travel consultations, video presentations, and guided tour services, making it the perfect first stop for tourists to quickly gather information about Beigan tourism. In addition to the service counter, the first floor features a souvenir shop and the only duty-free shop in Beigan. If you feel tired, the second floor has a light snack café, ideal for tourists to dine and relax while enjoying the sea view and preparing for the next leg of their Matsu journey. Video presentation times: 09:00-16:30, every half hour, lasting about 11 minutes each. Reviving Old Architecture: Banli Mansion Over a century old, Banli Mansion is located directly across from the Beigan Visitor Center. If you want to experience the early life of Matsu residents, you must visit Banli Mansion. Built using the herringbone and T-shaped brick methods, the house features neatly arranged stone walls on the exterior and original wooden construction on the interior. You could say it was a mansion back in the day! Now renovated, it preserves the original exterior walls, while the structural beams have been replaced. The right side of the mansion is open for visitors, while the left side serves as a traditional guesthouse. Walking through the historically rich wooden corridors, you may even hear the familiar creaking sound of the wooden floor, making it one of the must-experience aspects of Minnan architecture.
