Hidden within the mountain wall, the "Victory Lodge," located next to the Qing Shui Victory Reservoir and situated behind a yellow arch, is a tunnel carved out of the mountain. It was built in December 1981, and the construction involved traditional explosives and manual digging, a process that was extremely arduous and dangerous, taking over a year. After its completion in 1982, the Victory Lodge was primarily used to provide safe accommodations for various VIPs visiting the defense zone, equipped with a reception hall, display hall, guest rooms, and a restaurant, with a very cool temperature inside the tunnel. To promote military-themed tourism, the Matsu County Government organizes "Battlefield Experience" events every year, during which the military is invited to open the site for tourists to visit, allowing visitors a chance to glimpse the legendary "Presidential Suite." Note: Access to military sites is limited to nationals only. Groups (tourist groups, companies, or agencies) and individuals (independent travelers, backpackers) must undergo identity verification by the management (guards) and complete the application to enter for a visit.
