Victory Villa Introduction
Hidden within the mountain walls, "Victory Mountain Villa," located next to Qingshui Reservoir and behind a yellow archway, is a tunnel carved from the mountain, built in December 1981. The construction utilized traditional blasting methods and manual digging, making the process extremely arduous and dangerous, taking over a year to complete. After its completion in 1982, the villa mainly served the accommodation needs of dignitaries visiting the defense area, featuring a reception hall, exhibition hall, guest rooms, and a restaurant, with a notably cool temperature inside the tunnel. To promote military-themed tourism, the Lienchiang County Government organizes "battlefield experience" activities every year, during which they invite the military to regularly open the site for visitors, allowing them a chance to glimpse the legendary "Presidential Suite." Note: Access to military sites is limited to nationals only, and both groups (tourists, companies, or organizations) and individuals (independent travelers, backpackers) must have their identification verified by the management (guards) and complete the application to enter for a visit.
