Bada Tower Introduction
The famous landmark Bada Tower is located at the intersection of Jiujing Road and Bakhin Road in Lieyu. It is a castle-style building, about several tens of meters high. On top of the tower, there are seven courageous warrior statues posed in a defensive stance, each holding grenades or machine guns. These statues commemorate the seven heroes who fiercely defended the strategic pass at the Gubeikou section of the Great Wall during the Second Sino-Japanese War in 1933, killing hundreds of enemies before sacrificing themselves after successfully completing their mission. Surrounding the four sides of Bada Tower, short walls display large slogans of perseverance: "Independent Operation," "Self-Reliance," "Persevere to the End," and "Fight for Survival," highlighting the determination to resist enemies on the frontlines and to defend the nation and its people.
