Shuangkou Coastal Park Introduction
Shuangkou Coast is located about 6 kilometers from Xiamen and is the closest beach to Xiamen Island from Kinmen. It was historically the ferry point for Shuangkou villagers crossing to Xiamen. After 1949, it became a frontline defense area, with combat "trenches" dug around the village to prevent enemy attacks, and "track fortifications" set up along the tidal line, stretching for several kilometers and quite spectacular. Shuangkou Beach offers an unobstructed view, making it an excellent spot for watching sunsets and enjoying the night views of Xiamen. Additionally, due to its flat and expansive beach, it hosts various large events such as the Kinmen-Xiamen Swim Crossing and the Lianyu Taro Festival each year, making it the best venue for various large-scale activities in Little Kinmen.
