Shuangkou Coastal Park Introduction
Shuangkou Coast is located just about 6 kilometers from Xiamen, making it the closest beach in Kinmen to Xiamen Island. It was also the ferry point for the villagers of Shuangkou to cross to Xiamen in the past. After 1949, it became a frontline defense stronghold. To prevent enemy attacks, a combat "trench" was dug around the village, and there were "railway fortifications" set up along the tidal line, stretching for several kilometers, creating a quite spectacular scene. The Shuangkou beachfront offers an expansive view, making it a great place to watch the sunset and enjoy the night views of Xiamen. Additionally, due to the flat and spacious beach, various large-scale events, such as the Jinsha Swim and Liyu Taro Festival, are held here every year, making it the best venue for various large activities in Little Kinmen.
