Gu-Bu Rice Noodles is a popular snack shop located on Minquan Old Street in Sanxia, highly praised by food enthusiasts. Many people assume that the owner, Gu Guohuang, must have decades of culinary skills to make rice noodles so perfectly. In reality, over a decade ago, Boss Gu was a renowned tailor on Sanxia Old Street. However, he was unable to compete with the advancing ready-to-wear market and decided to apprentice in Hsinchu to learn the craft. With the tenacity of the Hakka spirit, he created traditional Hakka rice noodles that are highly acclaimed. Over the years, he has established a name for himself on Old Street, and now, to enjoy a bowl of soup-rich and fragrant rice noodles at Gu-Bu, one often has to wait outside for a spot.
