三峽拱橋近照

The Sanxia Arch Bridge, along with the Zushi Temple, is a unique landscape of Sanxia. It was constructed on October 7, 1932, during the Showa era of Japanese rule, and was completed on June 28, 1933, serving as a crucial transport route at the time. Standing on the arch bridge, one can observe the natural environment of Sanxia; below is the significant Sanxia River, and looking upstream, the towering Yuanshan mountain can be seen. On the right, the dense buildings are the central market area of the district. The bridge is designed based on the concept of three connected rainbows, thus also known as the Rainbow Bridge. Its elegant and simple shape made it a major route for external communication in the past. Although the prominence of water transport has declined, the Rainbow Bridge still retains its charm, especially at night when illuminated. From a distance, it appears as if three rainbows illuminate the entire Sanxia area, radiating a different rustic beauty.
