Sanxia Big Bridge Introduction
The Sanxia Arch Bridge, along with the Zushi Temple, is a unique landmark in Sanxia. Construction began on October 7, 1932, during the Showa period of Japanese rule, and was completed on June 28, 1933. It served as a vital transportation route to the outside. From the arch bridge, one can observe the natural characteristics of Sanxia; underneath flows the important Sanxia River. Looking upstream, the towering Yuanshan Mountain is visible, while to the right is a densely built area that serves as the local market center. This bridge is designed based on three interconnected rainbows, hence it is also known as the Rainbow Bridge. Its elegant and simple appearance was once a major communication road for the Sanxia area. Although the glory of water transportation has declined, the Rainbow Bridge remains a striking figure, especially under the illumination of night lights, resembling three rainbows illuminating the entire Sanxia area, radiating a unique rustic beauty.
