Sanxia Arch Bridge Introduction
The Sanxia Arch Bridge, alongside the Zushi Temple, is a unique landscape of Sanxia. It was constructed on October 7, 1932, during the Shōwa era of Japanese rule, and was completed on June 28, 1933. At that time, it served as a vital transportation route. From the bridge, one can appreciate the natural environment of Sanxia; beneath it flows the very important Sanxia River. Looking upstream, the majestic Yuanshan Mountain stands ahead, while to the right is the densely populated area of the local market center. The bridge's design is inspired by the concept of three interconnected rainbows, thus it is also known as the Rainbow Bridge. Its elegant and simple appearance once served as the main road for external communication in the Sanxia district. Despite the decline in water transport, the Rainbow Bridge retains its charm, especially at night when illuminated. From a distance, it resembles three rainbows lighting up the entire Sanxia area, exuding a unique rustic beauty.
