三峽拱橋近照

The Sanxia Arch Bridge, a unique landmark of Sanxia along with the Zushi Temple, was built on October 7, 1932, during the Shōwa era of Japanese rule and was completed on June 28, 1933. It served as an important access point for external transportation at that time. From the arch bridge, one can observe the natural features of Sanxia; beneath the bridge flows the vital Sanxia River. Looking upstream, the towering Yuanshan Mountain can be seen; to the right, the densely built area marks the town center of the region. The bridge's design concept features three interconnected rainbows, which is why it is also called the Rainbow Bridge. With its elegant and simple shape, it was once the main route for external communication in the Sanxia District. Although the bridge's significance diminished after the decline of water transport, its charm remains, especially at night when illuminated, it appears as if three rainbows light up the entire Sanxia area, exuding a different kind of rustic beauty.
