Bao Lai Xiang Bakery Introduction

Zhao Bi Xiang Bing, commonly known as "Puff Cake," is the size of a meat bun with a smooth surface and a dark brown color. The top features a four-corner shop imprint with the characters "Bao Lai Xiang." This traditional snack was a must-have for postpartum women in Tainan. The cake is filled with fragrant sesame oil and has a small hole poked in it to crack an egg inside, which is then pan-fried until cooked. It is said to have benefits such as firming the waist, promoting bone health, and helping to contract the uterus, making it a traditional therapeutic food in Tainan. Another popular product is "Garlic Branch," made by mixing garlic paste with flour, twisting it into a shape resembling a coiling vine, then deep-fried and coated with sugar powder to cool. Its resemblance to deer antlers gives it the name "Garlic Branch." It is characterized by being crispy, aromatic, and sweet, making it the best-selling snack at Bao Lai Xiang Bing Shop. Other unique traditional pastries include black bean paste, green bean cake, and meat buns. When visiting the Shuisheng Gong Market, don't forget to try these treats.
