Wenfeng Tea House Introduction
Chen family's ancestors immigrated from Quanzhou, Fujian during the Qing Tongzhi period and settled beside the "Wu Garden" of wealthy merchant Wu Shangxin in Fangqiao Head, a history of 138 years. Until the third generation, Wenfeng Tea House was passed down through the generations, and in the fourth generation, it began to be passed down sequentially among siblings. First, the fourth generation's Chen Fulian passed it to his eldest son Chen Yulin, then it was managed by his sister for over twenty years, and later passed on to the current sixth generation couple Chen Yuxiong and Huang Yumei. The shop is not large, but it is adorned with various ancient tea utensils, tea cakes, and old tea barrels, making it a great place for those interested in understanding the development of tea culture in Tainan.
