Aijia Cheng Shrimp Rice Introduction
The origin of the name "Aizai Cheng" comes from Mr. Ye, whose single name is Cheng. He is not very tall, and at that time, customers began to call him "Aizai Cheng" as a play on words with his name. This nickname has evolved into the well-known "Aizai Cheng Shrimp Rice" today. Aizai Cheng Shrimp Rice originated in 1922, when the first-generation owner, Ye Cheng, learned the art of cooking at the "Mingyue Lou," a Japanese restaurant during the Japanese colonial era. He later started his own small stall selling Japanese-style cuisine, creating a unique and delicious shrimp rice based on Japanese flavors. He initially set up shop at the Ximen Market and, after several relocations, established himself on sidewalks along Zhongzheng Road and Hai'an Road, commonly referred to as Xintian.
