Niu Chou Pu Rice Dumplings Introduction

Near Beihuacun in Guanmiao, water buffaloes used to gather frequently, earning it the old name Niuchoupu. This area is filled with bamboo groves, and the most thoughtful breakfast for the bamboo shoot farmers who rise early to dig up bamboo shoots is the fragrant "Hanzai Rice Dumplings," which have been around for half a century! Hanzai Rice Dumplings are a local delicacy from southern Taiwan, with fillings that include egg yolk, taro, pork chunks, and peanut powder. The bamboo leaves used are the fragrant pandanus leaves, and the glutinous rice is sourced from the Changhua region, where the soil is ideal for growing glutinous rice, making it the most chewy and aromatic. Stringent quality control of ingredients, from inside to out, is the first step to delicious rice dumplings. Coupled with decades of cooking experience, even without a prominent sign, they are still the hometown flavor that people in Guanmiao flock to.
