Chen's Handmade Tofu Pudding Introduction
Nestled in the alleys of Tainan, there are no large signs or crowds waiting in line, but this old tofu pudding shop is well-known among locals. The handcrafting method of tofu pudding has been passed down from a grandfather who has been making it for 50 years to his grandson in his twenties. The tofu pudding shop started in 1949, initially selling traditional tofu pudding with syrup, which is why it's called traditional tofu pudding. Now that flavored tofu pudding is popular, we also offer a variety of delicious options. Pearls: Soft and chewy traditional tapioca balls that stick together when left overnight, made without chemical additives. Red beans: Using Pingtung Wandan red beans, which have thin skin and rich flesh, cooked by us to ensure quality. Lemon and calamondin: Made with fresh fruit juice, no canned products.
