Autumn Bookstore Introduction

Chaiyi Utopia, an artistic salon for young people, is a bookstore purely founded by chance, initiated by Qiu Siki, the owner of Taichung 107 Gallery. It serves as a交流 platform and artistic salon for the youth of Chiayi. The space integrates elements of coffee, music, and books. Under the artist's self-described "impractical" transformation, the triangular old house named Qiu Book Room stands amidst the traffic of Linye West Road, resembling a ship ready to sail at sunset, inviting everyone to dream while awake. Whether immersing in books, pondering in silence, or lounging at the bar seeking caffeine or contemporary ideas, Qiu Book Room offers no specific business items, allowing free expression once on board. Particularly noteworthy is the atypical bookstore space created by Xiao Yu Cai Zhixian, featuring dialogues between new and old materials, the mix of rigid lines and gentle curves, the slant of the staircase, the play of light and shadow from the windows, and the freely displayed books, with the ultimate focus on the suspended ship machinery on the third floor, positioned at the apex of the triangular structure. During dusk, one can enjoy the magnificent sunset from the ship's bow. Book lovers should take their time to explore, as these books are the collection of founder Qiu Siki, generously provided for reading. If you encounter him at Qiu Book Room, be sure to sit down and chat; that's the correct way to engage in the artistic salon experience. *Operating Hours: By appointment only.
