Temple Street Black Wheel Stand Introduction
The black wheel stall in front of Xikou Beiji Temple has been operating since 1995, approaching 25 years now. The establishment of this black wheel stall was actually hidden behind the concern and responsibility of the owner, Mr. Chen Hsien-Jen (also the current village chief of Xixi Village), for his family. In order to allow his family to live a better and worry-free life, the owner used selling his favorite food, black wheels, as a side business, and later fully devoted himself to operating the stall with encouragement from his mother. To ensure that most farming customers could have more satisfying meals, the owner also included his grandmother's special fried noodles as one of the items sold at the black wheel stall. Subsequently, as business thrived, he introduced various fried foods like oyster omelet and tofu oysters, bringing the whole family together to work hard for their livelihood. The owner would also like to remind all dear customers that to maintain the chewiness of the noodles, the traditional fried noodles at the black wheel stall are still cooked daily on-site without outsourcing; hence, fried noodles are available in limited quantities every day! Additionally, to keep the oyster omelet and tofu oysters crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, they are fried fresh-to-order, so all customers are asked to please be patient!
