Dapi Sauerkraut Cultural Center Introduction
The exclusive salty and sour aroma of Dapi! The pickled mustard greens of Dapi are known for having no additional seasonings apart from salt, making it the largest in both planting area and production in Taiwan. The Pickled Mustard Greens Culture Museum introduces the history and cultural characteristics of pickled mustard greens in Dapi Township and holds a unique Pickled Mustard Greens Festival every winter. The museum plans to collect data on representative local crops of Dapi, primarily focusing on mustard greens (the main ingredient for pickling), along with supporting crops such as orchids and rice, showcasing various farming tools and equipment used in the cultivation of these crops. Additionally, the museum collaborates with village offices and community development committees to organize and document local cultural and historical materials in the Dapi area, establishing display areas for such records. A committee is also being formed to provide training for volunteers and guides, aiming to promote the cultural industry of the pickled mustard greens museum and ensure sustainable operations. The Pickled Mustard Greens Culture Museum is a scent experience museum, where the actual displays allow visitors to personally experience the aromas at every step of the pickling process. The exhibition themes and audiovisual equipment are all centered around Dapi, creating a local culture museum that is tailor-made for marketing regional characteristics. The museum also hosts an annual "Pickled Mustard Greens Cultural Festival," providing fun experiences in pickling for both adults and children.
