Dapi Sauerkraut Cultural Museum Introduction
The exclusive salty and sour aroma of Dapi! Dapi's sauerkraut uses only salt without any other seasonings, making it the number one in Taiwan in terms of planting area and production. The Sauerkraut Cultural Center introduces the history and cultural characteristics of Dapi’s sauerkraut, and every winter it hosts a unique Sauerkraut Festival. The center plans to collect data on representative local crops from Dapi, focusing on mustard greens (the main ingredient for pickling sauerkraut), with butterfly orchids and rice as supplementary crops, showcasing various farming tools and equipment used during cultivation. It also collaborates with village offices and community development committees to organize local cultural and historical data related to the Dapi area, establishing designated exhibition areas; at the same time, it forms a committee to train volunteers and guides, aiming to promote the cultural industry of the sauerkraut center and sustainable operations. The Sauerkraut Cultural Center is a sensory experience center where visitors can truly experience the aromas encountered at each step of the sauerkraut-making process through physical displays. The exhibition themes and audiovisual equipment revolve around Dapi, making it a local cultural center specifically designed to market local characteristics. Every year, it holds the "Sauerkraut Cultural Festival," allowing both adults and children to come and experience the fun of making sauerkraut.
