Xikou Meatballs Introduction
Xikou Meatballs, located in front of Xikou Beiji Temple, was established in 1976 by Mr. Sun Chongde. In order to learn the craft of meatball making, he worked hard to gather NT$30,000 to apprentice in Xinguang. Due to his advanced age, the business is now run by the second generation, Mr. Sun Jiangming.
This nearly 45-year-old establishment produces meatballs with a chewy exterior and substantial filling, and the sauce is made by simmering glutinous rice with sugar. The flavor is enhanced when paired with a bowl of the restaurant's bonito soup.
