Qigu Sanbuteng Oyster Omelette Introduction
Qigu Lagoon is a remnant of the Taijung Inner Sea, and its tranquil and beautiful scenery leaves visitors in awe. "Taking a bamboo raft to explore the lagoon and visiting Wangziliao Wetlands to enjoy the sunset" has become a new travel formula that attracts tourists from all over Taiwan to this legendary secret spot. Every visitor to Qigu Lagoon is mesmerized by the picturesque oyster racks, fixed nets, rich ecology on the sandy beach, and crescent-shaped sand dunes, creating unforgettable memories. The local fishermen, Yang Guoyuan and his brother Yang Ruixing from Longshan, cultivate oysters and set fixed nets for catches to make a living. In the 1990s, with the rise of tourism in Qigu Lagoon, Yang Ruixing began operating a bamboo raft service for visitors to explore the lagoon. To enhance visitors’ experience at Wangziliao Wetlands and allow them to taste fresh, unpolluted seafood from Qigu Lagoon, in 2003, Yang Guoyuan started selling deep-fried oyster cakes, crispy oysters, and fried tilapia at Wangziliao Wetlands. Due to the fresh and delicious offerings, it has gained a great reputation and has become another attraction in exploring the lagoon. Today, due to the retreating coastline, Qigu Lagoon's area is gradually shrinking and becoming shallow, with significant changes in the terrain of Wangziliao Wetlands.
