Qigu / Dragon Gate Inn Restaurant (Selected to participate in the 2010 Taiwan Food Festival特色餐廳) Introduction
Longmen Tavern offers a comfortable and clean dining environment showcasing a variety of well-known seafood in Xikou District. The cuisine leans towards exquisite yet affordable dishes, featuring large portions of milkfish and fresh oyster preparations that are immensely satisfying. Behind the restaurant, there is a small lake where guests can enjoy the scenery while dining. Longmen Tavern utilizes locally sourced seafood to present many representative local dishes, with each dish being delicious and uniquely flavorful. Dishes like "Salt-Baked Milkfish," "Salt-Baked Shrimp," and "Salt-Baked Crab" use coarse sea salt to wrap the seafood, locking in the sweet and fresh flavors; once the coarse salt is removed, the juicy and delicious essence of the ingredients is revealed, highlighting the original fresh and aromatic taste. The "Crispy Fish Dorsal Fin" is made from the fatty dorsal fin of milkfish, marinated and naturally sun-dried to absorb the essence of sunlight, then fried to retain a slightly chewy texture, delivering a mouthful of fresh and sweet goodness. Due to the time-consuming nature of this dish, it is recommended to make a phone reservation one day in advance. The "Crispy Burdock Strips" are made by deep-frying fresh burdock strips and sprinkling them with black sesame; each bite offers a crispy texture and the hint of sweetness from the burdock.
