"Traditional Hometown Delicacies" seafood noodles was established in 2010, but its history dates back to 1999. The owner, Chen Qiuli (born in 1969), is from Tuchengzi in Annan District. After marrying and moving to Sangu, she was employed at the Tainan Yicheng Fish and Mullet Soup Shop. Due to long working hours and the inability to take care of her children, she quit her job and opened a noodle stall in front of Longde Temple in Sangu, selling fish and mullet soup noodles. As the work with the oily broth was busy, she asked her sister-in-law, Chen Yuxia, to help care for her children. Initially, Chen Qiuli only sold fish and mullet soup noodles, but some customers did not like the thickened soup. Considering that Tainan is a local producer of milkfish, with easy and fresh access to ingredients, she switched to selling seafood noodles and seafood rice. In 2010, Chen Qiuli moved back to Tuchengzi, but continued to sell noodles at the Sangu stall, commuting between Tuchengzi and Sangu daily. Additionally, due to issues with picking up her children, Chen Qiuli decided to transfer the noodle stall to her sister-in-law, Chen Yuxia, and started her own venture by opening a new noodle stall named "Traditional Hometown Delicacies" across from the Tuchengzi market.
