Happy Encounter Snack Shop Introduction
Xi Xiang Feng was established in 1988 and is famous for its shaobing (a type of Chinese pastry) and knife-cut noodles. It's a must-visit for the soldiers in Kinmen. The shop features a black-and-white sign and a light blue-green door, exuding a vintage charm. The owner skillfully uses a knife to cut the dough at the right angle, creating noodles that are expertly placed into boiling water. The knife-cut noodles are sold from late morning until around 7 or 8 PM, with flavors including beef noodles, beef soup noodles, and zhajiang noodles. The thick handmade knife-cut noodles are chewy and flavorful, making it the most popular noodle shop in the area. In addition to the signature knife-cut beef noodles and related dishes, a variety of side dishes are offered, such as kelp, pig ears, and beef tripe. The shaobing comes in both savory and sweet varieties, with the savory filled with minced meat and scallions, and the sweet filled with sugar, all priced at 10 NTD, available from late morning until sold out.
