Happy Encounter Snack Shop Introduction
Xi Xiang Feng was established in 1988 and is most famous for its sesame flatbread and shaved noodles. It is a must-visit place for the soldiers in Kinmen. The shop features a black-and-white sign with a light blue-green door, exuding a nostalgic charm. The owner skillfully uses a knife to slice the dough, making noodles that are then cooked in boiling water. The shaved noodles are served from around noon until about 7 or 8 PM, with flavors including beef noodles, beef soup noodles, and soybean paste noodles. The thick handmade shaved noodles are chewy and the broth is excellent, making it the most popular noodle shop in the area. In addition to the signature shaved beef noodles and shaved noodle dishes, various side dishes are also offered, such as kelp, pig ears, and beef tripe. The sesame flatbread comes in two flavors, savory and sweet; the savory option is filled with minced pork and green onions, while the sweet version contains sugar, all priced at NT$10, available from around noon until sold out.
