Wutai Presbyterian Church Introduction
The Presbyterian Church is the spiritual pillar of the Rukai people. It was first established in the 43rd year of the Republic of China (1954) by preacher Lin Zhengguang from the Haocha Village Church, who also preached in Wutai. This church blends Rukai and Western characteristics and is a product of the villagers' collective efforts. During its construction, villagers utilized their skills through a labor rotation system. The church was rebuilt in the 90th year of the Republic of China (2001) after a construction period of five years and four months. It was officially completed in the 96th year of the Republic of China (2007), with stone being the primary building material, resembling a castle standing amidst the mountains and forests, which adds to the distinctiveness of this church located in the layered mountain ranges.
