Wutai Presbyterian Church Introduction
The Presbyterian Church is the spiritual pillar of the Rukai people. It was first established in the 43rd year of the Republic of China by missionary Lin Zhengguang from the church in Haocha Village, who also preached in Wutai. This church is a blend of Rukai and Western features and is a product of the villagers' unity in the community. During its construction, the villagers worked together using their individual skills. The church was rebuilt in the 90th year of the Republic of China, with a construction period of five years and four months, and was officially completed in the 96th year of the Republic of China. Stone was used as the main building material, resembling a castle standing amidst the mountains, giving this church in the layered hills even more distinctiveness.
