Wutai Presbyterian Church Introduction

The Presbyterian Church is the spiritual pillar of the Rukai people. It was first established in the year 1954 by Pastor Lin Chengguang, who served at the Hozan Church and came to evangelize in Wutai. This church is a fusion of Rukai and Western characteristics and is the result of the collective efforts of the villagers in the community. During its construction, villagers worked together, utilizing their respective skills. The church was rebuilt in 2001, with a construction period of five years and four months, and was officially completed in 2007. Stone was used as the primary building material, resembling a castle standing amidst the mountains and forests, giving this church a unique character in the layered mountain landscape.
