Wutai Presbyterian Church Introduction
Wutai Presbyterian Church is located in Wutai Village, Wutai Township. Established in 1966, it was handcrafted by the national treasure artist Du Ba-nan using local materials, gathering the strength of the entire village to create the tallest cypress wood cross and slate carvings in Asia, resembling a small castle church. Nestled amidst the misty mountains and forests, it feels like a church in heaven, making it a must-visit attraction for travelers to Wutai. Upon entering the church, you will see two Western angel statues blowing trumpets on the ceiling, and throughout the space, you can find motifs of the Rukai tribe, such as lilies, hundred-pace snakes, and knives, showcasing the spirit and collaborative labor of the Rukai people. It is recommended to spend about 30 minutes here to admire this beautiful building. Visitors must apply for a mountain entry permit when entering Wutai Township, and large type-A buses are prohibited from passing through.
