Karawa Slate House Introduction
Dalahabayang is located in a less noticeable alley on the left side of the Wutai Village Activity Center. For the people of the Wutai tribe, Dalahabayang represents true nobility and a significant leader. This is evident from the large banyan tree outside the house, the standing stone marks, and the wooden carvings under the eaves. The chief's house is always accompanied by a large courtyard, where tribespeople gather in front of the chief's house to hear important announcements from the chief during significant events. The origin of the Dalahabayang family can be traced back to the era of Old Haocha, when the Rukai people migrated from Taitung to Old Haocha. As the population gradually increased, commoners ventured out to pioneer the land. After settling in present-day Wutai, members of the Old Haocha chief's family were sent to Wutai to take charge, establishing what is now known as the Dalahabayang family.
