Ira Tribal Village Introduction
The Ila Tribe is located by the Beiai Liao Creek and is the first village encountered when entering Wutai Township in Pingtung County. The figures displayed at the welcome gate indicate that this village is rich in indigenous culture. It features a stone sculpture of the Rukai people and a hundred-paced snake, and the side walls display reliefs depicting the Rukai Harvest Festival, traditional clothing, and daily life activities, allowing visitors to understand Rukai culture even before stepping foot into the Ila Tribe. The Ila Waterfall Group boasts several stunning waterfalls, including Wutai Waterfall, Ali Waterfall, and Feilong Waterfall, each offering unique visual beauty. A visit to these waterfalls is guaranteed to evoke a sense of awe and nostalgia. Moreover, during the summer, feeling the refreshing mist against your skin is a delightful experience, especially in the sweltering heat. Wutai Waterfall, also known as "Shen Mountain Waterfall," has a height of approximately 40 meters, with water cascading powerfully from the top of the cliff. The strong flow creates a thunderous sound when the water hits the pool below, and the splashes resemble blooming fireworks, full of energy and vibrancy. Ali Waterfall is notable for its intersecting pathways with mining roads, creating a unique "path through the waterfall" landscape. Interestingly, Ali Waterfall has two streams; the left stream flows all year round, while the right stream temporarily dries up in winter. The best time to appreciate Ali Waterfall is in the afternoon, as the mist created by the mountain fog enhances its ethereal beauty. Feilong Waterfall, also known as "Human Head Waterfall," derives its name from the Rukai culture of hanging human heads. The waterfall is about 25 meters high, with most of its water flowing in an S-shape before cascading down, resembling a silver flying dragon diving into the water below. During the peak flow season, the mist produced by Feilong Waterfall blankets the entire valley, creating a dreamy and enchanting scene.
