Ira Clan Introduction
Ira Village is located by the banks of the Beiai Liao River and is the first village upon entering Wutai Township in Pingtung County. The figures displayed at the entrance signify that the village is rich in indigenous culture. It features a stone-carved sculpture of the Rukai people and a kaka snake. On the side walls, there are bas-reliefs depicting the Rukai harvest festival, traditional clothing, and daily life scenarios, allowing visitors to gain insight into Rukai culture even before stepping into Ira Village. The Ira Waterfall Group boasts several stunning waterfalls, such as Wutai Waterfall, Ali Waterfall, and Feilong Waterfall, each offering a unique visual experience. A visit to these waterfalls is sure to leave visitors with lasting memories. Additionally, during the summer, the refreshing mist from the waterfalls provides a cool relief from the heat, making it a delightful experience. Wutai Waterfall, also known as "Shenshan Waterfall," has a height of approximately 40 meters, with water cascading powerfully down the cliff. The strong flow creates an impressive sound as it crashes into the pool below, with the splashes resembling blooming fireworks, dancing around with great energy. Ali Waterfall is unique as it intertwines with the mining road, creating a scenic view of a waterfall with a path through it. Notably, Ali Waterfall features two streams: the left side remains full year-round, while the right side temporarily dries up in winter. The best time to admire Ali Waterfall is in the afternoon when the mountain mist creates a captivating haze. Feilong Waterfall, also known as "Human Head Waterfall," derives its name from the Rukai custom of hanging human heads. The 25-meter tall Feilong Waterfall cascades in an S-shape down the mountainside, resembling a silver dragon diving from the sky into the water below. During periods of abundant water, the mist generated by Feilong Waterfall envelops the entire valley, creating a dreamlike and enchanting scene.
