Ira Lan Village Introduction

Ira Tribe is located by the banks of the Beiai Liao River and is the first tribe you encounter when entering Wutai Township in Pingtung County. The statues placed at the welcoming gate already indicate that the tribe is rich in indigenous culture. This is a statue of the Rukai people and a hundred-pacer snake, made of slate, while the side wall features reliefs describing the Rukai people's Harvest Festival, clothing, and daily life. Before tourists visit the Ira Tribe, they can get a sense of Rukai culture here. The Ira Waterfall Group boasts several stunning waterfalls, including Wutai Waterfall, Ali Waterfall, and Feilong Waterfall. Each waterfall presents a unique visual beauty, and a visit promises touching experiences that linger in the memory. In addition to enjoying the beautiful scenery, visiting here in summer allows you to feel the refreshing cool mist on your skin, a delightful experience amidst the sweltering heat. Wutai Waterfall, also known as "Shenshan Waterfall," is about 40 meters high. Water cascades down from the top of the cliff with immense strength; the sound of the water crashing into the pool below is thunderous and impressive, with splashes resembling blooming fireworks that dance energetically everywhere. Ali Waterfall is intersected by a mining road, creating a unique landscape of a path within the waterfall. Notably, Ali Waterfall has two streams: the left one flows year-round without drying up, while the right one temporarily runs dry in winter. The best time to appreciate Ali Waterfall is in the afternoon, when the mountain mist creates an unforgettable ethereal beauty. Feilong Waterfall, also known as "Human Head Waterfall," originates from the Rukai culture of hanging human heads. Feilong Waterfall is about 25 meters high, with most of the water flowing in an S-shape before cascading down the mountain, resembling a silver dragon flying from the sky into the water below. During the high water season, the mist generated by the waterfall envelops the entire valley, creating a captivating dreamlike scene.
