Dehua Village Introduction
In the Dewen Village of Sandimen Township, Pingtung County, the Dewen Scenic Area offers a beautiful view of the mountains and countryside. Situated at an altitude of 800 meters, Dewen Village features the Guanwang Mountain Ancient Trail, Dewen Hunter School, and Delai Park, all of which reflect the unique culture of the Rukai tribe and cover an area of 1,560 hectares. The winding mountain roads leading to Dewen Village provide stunning natural scenery, including steep peaks and deep valleys. As winter approaches, the entire mountainous region begins a dazzling flower season, with plum blossoms, cherry blossoms, and pear blossoms blooming in succession, creating a picturesque landscape that captivates visitors. A century-old banyan tree in the village recently collapsed due to disease, and local residents are helping to restore its former glory through branch cuttings and pruning. Dewen Village primarily belongs to the Paiwan tribe, and indigenous artifacts, such as stone walls and furniture, as well as totems, can be seen throughout the area. However, this region is a mountain control area, and an entry permit is required for access. Notably, Dewen Village has set up many indigenous totems and installation art pieces that integrate the beauty of nature with local cultural features, allowing visitors to appreciate the natural scenery while experiencing the unique aspects of indigenous culture.
