Lidong Mountain Trail Introduction
Lidong Mountain has an elevation of only 659 meters and offers three hiking entrances. The trail accessed from the back gate of Jiayi Elementary School is flat and spacious, lined with mango and acacia trees, making it convenient for parking and a common starting point for most hikers. Another, more challenging trail is located next to the Jiayi Police Station; this trail was originally an indigenous hunting path, featuring continuous steep slopes with an average gradient of over 40 degrees. Lidong Mountain is named for its conical shape resembling a bamboo hat, and on clear days, one can enjoy a panoramic view of the entire Gaoping Plain. On weekends, the trails are often crowded with hikers from the city, and the difficulty level of the paths is moderate, making it suitable for urban dwellers who wish to hike and exercise.
