Lidjing Mountain Hiking Trail Introduction
Lidong Mountain has an elevation of only 659 meters and has three hiking entrances. The trail accessed from the back gate of Jiayi Elementary School is flat and broad, lined with mango and acacia trees, making it convenient for parking and serving as the starting point for most hikers. Another more challenging trail is located beside Jiayi Police Station; it was originally an indigenous hunting path, featuring steep slopes with an average incline of over 40 degrees. Lidong Mountain is named for its shape, resembling a conical hat. On clear days, one can enjoy a panoramic view of the entire Kaohsiung-Pingtung Plain. During holidays, hikers from the urban areas crowd the trails. The difficulty level of the mountain path is moderate, making it suitable for urban dwellers seeking to hike and stay fit.
