Lidjing Mountain Trail Introduction
Lidong Mountain has an elevation of only 659 meters and has three trailheads. The trail accessed from the back gate of Jiayi Elementary School is flat and spacious, lined with mango and acacia trees, making it convenient for parking and a starting point for most hikers. Another more challenging trail is located next to the Jiayi Police Station; it was originally an indigenous hunting path, featuring steep slopes that average over forty degrees. Lidong Mountain is named for its shape, which resembles a traditional straw hat. On clear days, one can enjoy a panoramic view of the entire Gaoping Plain. During weekends, hikers from the city crowd the trails, and the difficulty level is moderate, making it suitable for urban residents seeking to hike and stay fit.
