Jiahala'ai Introduction

Jilamig Tribe is located in Fengnan Village, Fuli Township, at the southernmost part of Hualien County. The residents are mainly from the Amis tribe. The traditional crop was dry rice, and during the Qing Dynasty and Japanese colonial period, they were introduced to the cultivation techniques of paddy rice. The rice grown here is of exceptional quality and was used as tribute to the Emperor during the Japanese colonial period. A small section of the Fudong Highway leading to Jihalaai resembles the scenic views of the Central Cross-Island Highway due to the canyon topography, thus it is also referred to as "Little Tianxiang."
