Jiharaei Introduction

Jilamidai Indigenous Village is located in Fengnan Village, Fuli Township, at the southernmost tip of Hualien County. The residents are primarily from the Amis tribe. The traditional crop was dry rice, and during the Qing Dynasty and the Japanese colonial period, they came into contact with rice cultivation techniques. The variety of rice grown here is known for its exceptional quality and was used as tribute rice for the Emperor during the Japanese colonial period. A short section of the Fudong Highway leading to Jihara’ai is similar in scenery to the Central Cross-Island Highway due to its canyon geography, and is also referred to as "Little Tianxiang."
