Jihara'ai Introduction
The Jilamidai Tribe is located in Fengnan Village, Fuli Township, at the southernmost tip of Hualien County. The residents are primarily Amis people. The traditional crop was dry rice, and during the Qing Dynasty and Japanese colonial period, they were introduced to the cultivation techniques of wet rice. The rice grown here is of excellent quality and was used as tribute rice for the emperor during the Japanese colonial period. A stretch of the Fudong Highway leading to Jiharaai is known as "Little Tianxiang" due to its similar landscape to that of the Central Cross-Island Highway, characterized by canyon terrain.
