Correctional School 1921 Introduction
The dormitories located at No. 19 and No. 21, Lane 134, Weixin Road, serve as the operation and management center for a public-private partnership, hence named "Correction Academy 1921 - Old Jail 134 Operation Center." The construction of the old jail in Chiayi dates back to 1921. The old jail dormitory complex has been transformed into a wooden culture work settlement, which not only recreates the spatial structure and layout characteristics of wooden houses, but also features courtyards, lawns, and winding paths. Additionally, it employs smart technology for detection and remote control equipment to prevent fire disasters and intrusion by thieves, making it the first historic building in Taiwan to implement a customized smart disaster prevention system.
