Correctional School 1921 Introduction
The dormitories located at No. 19 and No. 21, Lane 134, Weixin Road, serve as the operational management center for a public-private partnership, hence named "Correctional School 1921 - Old Prison 134 Operational Center." The construction of the old prison in Chiayi dates back to 1921. The Chiayi Old Prison dormitory complex has been transformed into a wooden culture work settlement, recreating the spatial structure, layout characteristics, courtyard lawns, and winding paths of wooden houses. It also employs smart technology for detection and remote control equipment to prevent fire hazards and intrusions, making it the first old house in Taiwan to implement a customized smart disaster prevention system.
