Xindian Cultural and Historical Museum Introduction
The "Xindian Cultural and Historical Museum," affiliated with the Xindian Public Library, is located in Magong Park. With a display area of 120 ping, the museum features a permanent exhibition showcasing artifacts from the lives of earlier residents (many of whom are descendants of immigrants from the Minnan Zhangquan region) as well as historical and cultural information about the development of the greater Xindian area. Additionally, there is a special exhibition that changes themes every six months. Admission to the "Xindian Cultural and Historical Museum" is free, and it collaborates with local educational institutions for community education, which leads to many students visiting the museum. The collection includes documents and artifacts mostly used by ancestors during the Qing Dynasty, Japanese colonial period, and the Republic of China era, contributed by thirty-eight enthusiastic residents of the Xindian District. Currently, the collection includes over 620 items, with static exhibits focusing on "visual imagery." Dynamic exhibits are categorized into several sections: the Qing Dynasty, the Japanese colonial period, the early post-war period, modern Xindian, and future Xindian. There are also seven major display areas, including sections for "Bamboo Snake Baskets," "Water Wheels," "Telephone Exhibits," and "Architectural Design."
