Xindian Cultural and Historical Museum Introduction
The "Xindian Cultural and Historical Museum," affiliated with the Xindian Library, is located within Magong Park. The 120-ping exhibition space features a permanent exhibition showcasing artifacts from the lives of ancestors (the residents of the Xindian area are mostly descendants of immigrants from the Minnan regions of Zhangzhou and Quanzhou) as well as cultural and historical materials regarding the development of the Greater Xindian area. Additionally, thematic special exhibitions change every six months. The entrance to the "Xindian Cultural and Historical Museum" is free, and the museum integrates local education with teaching units, which often results in student visits. The museum's collection mainly consists of artifacts used by ancestors during the Qing Dynasty, Japanese colonial period, and the Republic of China era, contributed by thirty-eight enthusiastic residents of the Xindian area. Currently, the collection includes over six hundred items, with the static display focusing on "images" as the main showcase. The dynamic exhibition is divided into sections representing the Qing Dynasty, Japanese rule, the early post-war period, modern Xindian, and future Xindian, with seven major display areas, including the "Bamboo Snake Cage Area," "Water Wheel Area," "Telephone Mechanism Display Area," and "Architectural Design Display Area."
