Emerald Tea Garden Introduction
Wenshan Baozhong tea is renowned for being one of the best teas in northern Taiwan, with its production areas spanning from Wenshan to Pinglin. In the picturesque Shiding District of New Taipei City, there is a young tea farmer named Tseng Jen-tsung. After working outside, he put aside his career to return home and inherit his father's skills and commitment in tea production, allowing the high-quality, pesticide-free Wenshan Baozhong tea to leave its fragrance in tea shops. The Tseng family has been engaged in agriculture for generations. He originally worked for an urban construction company but, after participating in the "Drifter Camp" organized by the Taoyuan Agricultural Improvement Station of the Council of Agriculture, he resolutely left his urban job to take over his father's tea business in Shiding Mountain. The tea garden of the Tseng family has an exceptional growing environment, a tranquil setting often visited by photography enthusiasts. In the morning, a thin mist envelops the tea garden and the Emerald Lake, resembling a fantastical landscape from an ink wash painting; at dusk, one can see a vividly yolk-like sunset and stunning evening glow reflected on the calm waters of the Emerald Lake, creating a breathtaking scene as the sun slowly sets amidst the awe of onlookers. What Tseng Jen-tsung takes the most pride in is his father's legacy, the "Bagua Tea Garden." Located on a small hill, the tea garden's terrain and the growth patterns of the tea trees create a neatly arranged landscape, reminiscent of the hexagrams of the I Ching spread across the earth. "This rare landscape is known only to insiders. Many photography lovers often arrive here early in the morning and wait until evening just for a beautiful landscape shot." In addition to inheriting the excellent techniques of tea cultivation and production from his family, Tseng Jen-tsung also aims to introduce innovative techniques and methods. He actively participates in many courses organized by the Council of Agriculture and cooperates with the local farmers' association for marketing, striving to expand his brand. The tea he nurtures with such dedication often wins awards. However, Tseng Jen-tsung is not complacent. The beauty and tranquility of his homeland remind him of the significance and greatness of this land, even when he works away from it. Upon his return, he realized the importance of preserving this natural purity and sought to convey it to everyone through the tea he cultivated. Thus, he began to venture into the realm of healthy organic farming, growing toxin-free and pesticide-free certified tea to ensure that consumers can enjoy healthful tea with every sip, experiencing the clarity of water quality and the natural environment. With Tseng Jen-tsung's meticulous care, the tea garden has gradually filled with natural vitality. Every summer night, fireflies dance with the mountain breeze. Fireflies, which can only thrive in an unpolluted environment, serve as the best biological indicator of a pesticide-free habitat and are the most beautiful encouragement for Tseng Jen-tsung's tea garden. "Wherever there's flowing water, there are fireflies. In places with lots of fireflies, there are also many frogs. When there are many frogs, hmm! Watch out for snakes when passing through the grass!" Tseng Jen-tsung loves to remind every visitor to the tea garden in a relaxed tone. "Don't be afraid of these insects and creatures; a healthy environment fosters rich biodiversity, and the crops will thrive healthily." His philosophy regarding the tea garden and tea leaves is about pursuing health and vigor, which embodies Tseng Jen-tsung's farming principles.
