Lin Yutang House Introduction
The Lin Yutang House has been closed for renovation since June 1, 2024, with an estimated construction period of two years. Mr. Lin returned to Taiwan and settled in 1966, designing this villa himself, blending Chinese courtyard style with Western aesthetic architecture. With blue tiles and white walls, it features archways and corridors that merge modern sensibilities with classical beauty. The location was chosen for its resemblance to mountainous views from his hometown in Fujian, and here, the familiar Min Nan dialect can be heard, bringing him great comfort. He once described this residence as "a house with a garden, a garden with a house, a house with a courtyard, a courtyard with trees, trees touching the sky, and the moon above the sky, how delightful." The balcony was a place Mr. Lin often visited; after dinner, he enjoyed sitting in a rattan chair by the table, pipe in mouth, watching the sunset over Guanyin Mountain. You can also come here to experience such leisure.
