Enjoy exclusive serenity on the Aokou Trail. Matsu Nangan has two trails that weave through the mountains. One is the "Jinren Trail," connecting the villages of Jinsha and Ren'ai. Starting from Tieban, it passes through Tie Fort and reaches Jinsha, which is a great spot to overlook the entire Jinsha settlement and watch the sunset! Walking on the wooden boardwalk, the picturesque mountain town of Jinsha unfolds before your eyes, especially at sunset when the golden sunlight casts onto the roofs of the traditional Mǐndōng-style buildings, creating a beautiful scene. The other trail, "Magang Trail," starts from Jinsha Reservoir, goes through Shengtian Park, and leads to Matsu Village. Strolling along the trail, the vast sea view is refreshing, with colorful azaleas blooming by the roadside in spring. In late summer and early autumn, the red flower of the shoreline flower (Lycoris radiata) decorates the path, offering different scenery throughout the seasons, making it perfect for hiking or walking. In the past, the Jinren and Magang trails were military supply roads, constructed with limited materials like cement. They were originally laid with two narrow, track-like surfaces for military vehicles. Although most of the vehicle tracks on the island have been transformed into cement roads, the entire trail still retains much of the characteristics of the original tracks.

Jinren and Magang Trail Introduction

Enjoy the exclusive tranquility at Aokou Trail. There are two trails in Nangan, Matsu that weave through the mountains. One is the "Jinren Trail," which connects the villages of Jinsha and Ren'ai. Starting from Tiebang, it passes by Tiebao and reaches Jinsha, which is a fantastic spot to overlook the entire Jinsha settlement and enjoy the sunset! Walking along the wooden plank road, the beautiful scenery of Jinsha, resembling a mountain town, unfolds before your eyes, especially at sunset when the golden sunlight spills over the roofs of the Min Dong-style buildings, creating a stunning view. The other trail, "Magang Trail," begins at Jinsha Reservoir, passing through Shengtian Park and continues to Mazu village. Strolling along the trail, the vast sea view is refreshing, with colorful azaleas blooming by the roadside in spring, and in late summer to early autumn, the red flowers of Lycoris radiata, also known as "spider lily," dot the landscape, providing different scenery throughout the seasons, making it perfect for hiking or walking. In the past, the Jinren and Magang trails were military vehicle paths used for wartime preparedness. Due to a lack of cement and other building materials during construction, only two narrow paths resembling tracks were laid in the middle of the road for military vehicles. Nowadays, although most vehicle paths on the island have been converted into cement roads, the majority of the trail still retains the characteristics of these vehicle paths.
