Matsu Story Museum Introduction
The Matsu Story Museum is located at the site of the Matsu Daily News. To preserve and witness the stories of Matsu's growth, the Matsu Daily News plans to establish a historical data repository. This includes publishing special issues of old photographs and stories from Matsu, compiling selections of news stories from Matsu, launching an electronic newsletter for Matsu, and setting up a think tank for the Matsu Daily News for public reading and downloads. In 2005, the Matsu Daily News proposed the concept of building a history museum to the central government, which later received funding from the Ministry of Culture. This concept was expanded into the "Matsu Story Museum," enriching the exhibition's content. The museum displays artifacts and photographs from the military government period in Matsu, allowing visitors to step into historical contexts, experience the living conditions of Matsu during wartime, and feel the atmosphere of the frontline under cross-strait confrontation. It also utilizes existing collections to provide a comprehensive presentation, making full use of surrounding spaces and venues to offer a rich and lively experience for tourists.
