Matsu Story Museum Introduction

The Matsu Story Museum is located in the site of the Matsu Daily newspaper. To preserve and witness the growth stories of Matsu, the Matsu Daily planned to establish a historical data repository, which included publishing special issues of old photographs and stories of Matsu, compiling selected news stories from Matsu, creating a Matsu e-newsletter, and establishing the Matsu Daily think tank for public access to readings and downloads, among other initiatives. In 2005, the Matsu Daily proposed to the central government the idea of building a newspaper history museum, which later received funding from the Council for Cultural Affairs, evolving the concept into the "Matsu Story Museum," thus enriching the content of the exhibition. The museum not only showcases artifacts and photographs from Matsu during the wartime governance period, allowing visitors to step into a historical space and experience the living conditions of Matsu during wartime, but also effectively presents the existing collected materials. By fully utilizing the surrounding space and facilities, it offers a rich and lively content, providing tourists with a different experiential value.
