Ren'ai Village (Teppanyaki) Introduction
Recreating the charm of a coastal fishing village, Ren'ai Village, an alternative settlement in Nangan, formerly known as "Tieban," is surrounded by mountains on three sides and faces the sea on one side. At low tide, large areas of sand and concrete appear along the shore, sparkling in the sunlight like a giant iron plate, hence the name. Later, it was renamed Ren'ai Village. Once, it was home to a large vegetable market and the county government, thriving for a time, but after the political and economic center moved to Shanlong Village, Ren'ai Village returned to tranquility. The village is dotted with a large number of Fujian-style stone houses. In recent years, with government and passionate individuals’ planning, the business district has been revitalized, and installation art has been introduced, such as incorporating old stone houses into battlefield camouflage styles, hanging large old photos outdoors, and replica traditional arches. The dedication of residents to preserving and cultivating the settlement is evident everywhere, revitalizing Ren'ai Village. Under the care of villagers, some of the village's complete buildings have been preserved, creating a beautiful scenery of modern architecture intertwined with old houses. Although the fishing village scene is no longer visible, the passage of time brings a unique natural essence in its tranquility.
