Kaipi Honghuang Rock Introduction
During the Tongzhi period, the Japanese army invaded Taiwan. Wu Guangliang was commissioned to plan the opening of the mountain paths and personally inscribed a stone at the foot of Cihu Ling at the Zhuoshui River in Jiji. Subsequently, he sent people into the mountains to explore the routes, and in the first year of Guangxu, he opened the "Batongguan Ancient Trail," benefiting future generations with its remarkable spirit. The Hongaiju Monument was established to serve as a lasting example for posterity. The Ministry of the Interior designated this monument as a national first-class relic, and in 2001, it was subsidized by the Water Resources Agency of the Ministry of Economic Affairs to improve the surrounding environment, enhance greenery, and improve drainage facilities. The inscription on the Hongaiju Monument is strong and powerful, rich in ancient significance. In front of it is the old pier of the Jiji Bridge, and nearby is Shitou Mountain. Hikers are encouraged to stop here to appreciate and reflect on the ancient past.
